well, The orignal HDD size is 8GB. If you wanna upgrade the HDD the things u need to know is 1. Understand that MS can scan your HDD and ban you even if your modchip is switched off when your playing XBL 2. The HDD must be lockable. Check out the list of lockable HDD here xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list3. Depending on the HDD size you choose if bigger then 120GB then your bios must be able to support LBA48 4. You can use a installer to load a standard suit of appls for your HDD, do a google on "Slayer's 2.6" All appls are available from www.xbins.org5. You can find out more info about upgrading the HDD from www.xbox-scene.com check the tuts hope this helps mechaman Just wanna ask, what size of the HDD is the XBOX fitted with & when i purchase a new HDD, what are the necessary stuff i need to do with the HDD (Partition it? load it with anything?) no, the new HDD must be installed with minimum the original MS dashboard files. Think of the Xbox as a pc, no operating system, the pc is useless w/o the dashboard (os) appls like XBMC or game management s/w cannot be installed the xbox is not like the ps2 in which the storage is optional hope this helps if say i upgrade my HDD with the new one... the system detect but would the xbox still run with an empty HDD? or do i have to install the apps in before replacing the previous HDD that has all the dashboard and stuff?

Well, almost. Slayers just copies the required files into your Xbox HDD depending on your menu choices. Current Applications installed in your Xbox hdd should be detected and usable from the UnleashX menu, however u can edit the ini files to further customise if you want to so if install the Slayer's 2.6, is like install a OS ?
