hey man, i need ya expert opinion.
i dropped my hard drive, the original retail one. i was going to upgrade to larger 200gb at the end of this month but now....nuts.
my box can boot up and goes to the Launch Menu but will not boot the dash, both retail and evoX. i'm using a xenium.
how would you approach this mess i'm in? with a replacement drive (if i can find one), does that mean i can't play XBL?
do you do trade ins? ha ha...
please advise. thanks!

if your xbox retail drive is confirmed to be kaput, its a matter of pushing forward with your upgrade plans purchase a lockable 200gb hdd of your choice and replace the kaput retail hdd u will not be able to use the Xenium's "Drive upgrade wizard" as your original hdd is gone. just download Slayer's Autoinstaller or a installation disc of your choice from xbins.org and boot the disc to do a fresh install of the ms & evox dashboards. if u have an XBL account which u have used on your xbox set before, purchase a new "virgin" EEPROM from eBay and reflash your existing xbox eeprom with the new one. Logon to XBL with this new eeprom and hdd and your account will be ok i.e. no ban refer to teamxodus webby on how to reflash your eeprom with the Xenium. Please be careful when flashing the eeprom, an incorrect version or incorrent procedure will render your xbox inrepairable. everything's working now. except i haven't flashed the eeprom yet, thanks for the advice! i almost bought a 2nd hand xbox for $200. now i spent $151 and fixed myself a 120gb xbox! ;D
