Hi,
This is a 'newbie' question. I've been trying to look for this over the internet but unsuccessful.
My XBox has XBMC. I found the latest update of XBMC over the internet. However, there is no 'How-To-Upgrade' instructions anywhere.
I tried FTP to XBOX but it ended up freezing up the entire console. Fortunately, reinstalling the old version wasn't difficult (it was in the EVOX iso).
Can you, please kind sir, assist me with this?
Thank you.
P.S: How's the stock for the Aladdin Mod Chip?

Hi, Try deleting the old XBMC version in your Xbox first using FTP. The older version of XBMC XML config files are not compatible with the latest CVS builds. After deleting the XBMC folder copy your new version in using FTP. This should work. If not most likely your copy of XBMC could be corrupted in some way. Do another download of a new copy to check this. New shipment of chips has arrived hope this helps mechaman Hi, This is a 'newbie' question. Hi,
There are a couple of Dashboards available but if you are like me, XBox Media Center (XMBC) is the main Dashboard. One of the menus available is 'My Files'. You can copy files from one folder to another, from one drive to another, in fact, from another computer to your xbox.
Why not just FTP from a computer to your xbox? Urrmm... you can. This is just an alternative to FTPing files.
So how to copy/move files?
When you access 'My Files', there are actually two views, Source and Destination. Upon accessing 'My Files' you are in the Source view. To switch to Destination view, press the BLACK button ('TITLE' if you are using the remote control). Press the BLACK button again to switch back to the Source view.
Switch to the Destination view and select the folder where you want to copy or move the files to. Once at the location, switch back to Source view and select the file(s) to copy/move.
To select files or folders, press the 'Y' button ('1' if you are using the remote control).
Navigate to the left pane and select either copy or move and a box will appear asking if you want to continue the process. Pressing YES will copy/move the files/folders and NO will cancel the operation.
You can copy (but not move) files from another computer via SMB to XBOX but not the other way round.

Hi Junius, Try upgrading your version of the XBMC s/w to the latest copy, current version is 1.0.0 point release final. You can use the file explorer function of XBMC to find the files you copied into the xbox and delete them, they should be in E:\Games or E:\HDDLoader and E:\Apps\Emulators hope this helps mechaman Dear all, I'm really exited being introduced into the world of Xbox not for games but as a multimedia console.
